What is a pipeline?

Answer

Pipelines are set of rules or configurable templates governing how queries and records are processed.

There are two main categories of pipelines:

  1. Query pipelines - defines the way the input information (e.g. input text from a search bar) is processed, and what steps or actions are taken before a query is sent to Sajari API to return search results.

  2. Record pipelines - defines the way records and their associated information will be processed and transformed (modified or augmented) before the record is stored in the collection.
