How do I customize my search results?

Answer

You can customize your results in three different ways, all operated from the Console:

  • Add synonyms to bridge the gap between the language in your content and queries run by your users. For example, if your users are searching for 'help' but the content you want them to find is labelled 'support', add a synonym: help = support.

  • Use Exclude rules to remove content that you do not want to appear in your search results. For example, to remove all PDFs from your search results, add an Exclude rule for URLs that end in .pdf.

  • Use Boost rules to increase or decrease the importance of content within your site. For example, to prioritize content from your Products section at www.acme.com/products, you can set a Boost rule for URLs where 'dir1' = 'products'.

  • No labels
