What constitutes a search session?
What constitutes a search session?
Answer
Search.io uses the concept of a search session to help us report meaningful analytics about search, especially when instant search is in use.
Search.io bundles related searches into a "search session" which is then treated as a single search for analytics purposes.
A session begins when a user starts typing the first character in the search box, and continues till the search query is completed. It continues as the user visits the next page of the search results or go back to the previous page of the search results. There are a few cases where a session restarts or ends, e.g. if a user removes all the entered query and starts typing a new query.
